Reminder re seasonal rip currents (01 Nov-31 Mar per annum)

Recommended Posts

Very good point raised...

Anyone got any more accurate info related to the Samui Archipelago? ie which beaches may be affected.

I just did a google search.... seems other than postings on TV here, there is not a lot of info!

This site gives a bit of info...

It really varies with the tides and weather and their direction.... I have seen Maenam beach with 2 m waves.... not that means there are rip tides... just rough seas!

Chawang and Lamai beaches can get pretty rough even after the monsoon season, even well into February. Can't find pics at the moment,

Comes down to paying attention to Red Flags and using common sense!

Dec 14th last year Maenam beach~ ! churned up sand!

It's not always like this! (also Maenam beach)

Samui Webcam shows some beaches with current conditions.... but not info on rip tides!
