Best beach to stay with 2 childs

Hi.

I am living in BKK for 5 years, and never been to Phuket before. I plan to go there in february next year.

What would be the best place (area) to stay in Phuket with 2 children (9 yo and 8 yo) ?

I am looking for place with nice and clean beach, with some animations (but not crowed like Patong).

Thank you.

save yourself the disappointment visit koh phangan instead.

What a fantastic idea. I'm sure OP will love to take the kids to adult mind expanding island.

spoken like someone who has never been there.

why would you want to stay in a decent room right on the beach with your children on an island that is 80 percent protected rainforest.

thankfully full moon stigma keeps the ignorant at bay.

How'd you guess, no I've never been there in over 2 decades in Asia. Did you perhaps think OP wants a simple flight from BKK to HKT and doesn't want the hassle of ferries etc, hence the specific question about Phuket and not "which beach is best for kids in Thailand:?

OP, Kata Beach would be a good choice, nice calm water, a close by reef for snorkeling, and plenty of restaurants nearby including some on the beach.

Arinara Bangtao has a gigantic pool and you are right on a huge strip of beach, Bangtao. Kids can run up and down the beach all day, play in the pool afternoon and evening.

Granted, the place is sort of set up like an amphitheater so if you are a light sleeper bring some earplugs as I suppose the noise within could be bothersome. But overall, great place for kids.

The Title has nice apartments in Rawai, not far from Nai harn beach... Depends on your budget, you could also rent a Villa with pool..

Rawai is better than Kata for kids. Naiharn beach has good shallow wading areas better for young ones especially this time of year. Only about 1 km away is Yanui Beach and Ao Sane. Ao Sane is very private small beach albeit a little rocky but not uncommon to see families there. Kata has much busier roads and lots of loud touristy stuff. Rawai/Naiharn is 15 minutes farther south so not far if you wanted to go visit Kata but for an actual family visit I would say Rawai is a better option. If you do consider this area PM me, there are available bungalows in my complex or which there are only 4 in total. Very private with a spectacular pool about 3 minutes from the beach.

Yes, you always see many kids in the Nai Harn shallow area. However, the currents there are much more deceptive than at the main beach, and the water is easily deep enough to drown in. I never let my kid swim there, always the main beach in Nai Harn or sometimes Kata.

With many more places within walking distance I think Kata is much more suitable for families than Rawai, where one always needs transport to a nice beach, and the restaurants etc. are also spread out between the beach area and Sai Yuan, also requiring transport.

You can't stay there, but have a day/half day at Laem Sing beach. The children should be old enough to manage the steps, there are a lot, but it is about the smallest of the Phuket beaches, bar staff are friendly and it has a natural feel.

quite the contrary, but i do much prefer koh phangan.

unlike the pulse of steel, a fellow who seems to be very proud of where he hasnt been, i have experienced phuket. As for his ferry argument, it takes 25 minutes after a 5 minute drive from samui airport and you dont need to pay an additional 1000 baht to battle traffic in from phuket airport in a taxi.

Too bad you can't read between the lines and realize I've been to KP, actually quite a few times and have a number of friends there. Not sure you quite understood the OP's post though asking specifically about Phuket, which he clearly did. I didn't see OP asking for opinions of other destinations, did you?
