mazo Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Why are tot so rubish after weeks of my connection working then not working and many calls to tot finally they told me that they were having so many problems with there server in bangkok that i will have to down grade from 1MG to 512K. After telling her that we had a contract and i had paid in advance for the goldcyber service but i was still told that i would have to change silvercyber for a more reliable service and not just me she told me many more pepole would have to down grade because of the demand on the server. So why is it they can guaranty uninterrupted high speed internet at the new airport but not at my home. So if you are having problems with goldcyber and keep geting network error you to may have to down grade to. I find tots attitude to its customers extremeley poor i am going to the tot office in pattaya tomorrow to find out what can be done but to be honest i have had enough of tot poor service so if any one can tell me of a reliable internet service provider please let me know
what next? Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Mazo I read this in yesterdays Bangkok Post may be of help to you? Good for Pattaya city perhaps? I am considering it myself as I live in Mapbrachan and only have a dial up connection. Has anybody else used the Hutch wireless "broadband "???? Is Mapbrachan ( Khun John Restaurant area) a WI-FI hotspot??? Wireless_solution_needed.doc
monty Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 what next?, You're mixing two things! A hotspot is an area where somebody (restaurant/hotel,...) has a proper internet connection such as ADSL, and then shares this connection by installing a wireless accespoint. The radius is normally very small, like in a circle of between 30 and 100 meters of the accespoint. Nowadays this is available for free in most places which offers it as an extra service to pull in potential customers... Hutch availability is just like mobile phone coverage. Hutch does have connectivity in the greater Mabprachan area, but you might need a USB extension cord to move the wireless modem around a bit to get best reception... Works pretty well for surfing, even had some decent conversations over skype with somebody using Hutch. It will be however to slow for streaming media, even audio...
what next? Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 ^ I could of course use the generous facilities at the "Resort" just around the corner in darkest Pong
barryofthailand Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I have dial up in Pattaya with TOT. Sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't work. TOT is well aware of their problems. If I keep having problems I will switch to TT&T. Has an office in Carrefour. Barry
