Visa for Passport Holder of Australia

Tourist Visa Category “TR”

Purpose of Visit: This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for tourism purposes.

The Tourist Visa "TR" has 2 categories: SINGLE ENTRY and MULTIPLE ENTRIES.

SINGLE ENTRY

Validity of a Visa: The validity of a visa is 3 months.

Period of Stay: Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days.

Visa Processing Fee: $45.00 AUD per application

Documents Required:

  • Your actual Passport or Travel Document. (Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page);
  • A completed and signed application FORM A;
  • One passport-size photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) taken within 6 months with a full-face view without hat or glasses. (Photocopy not accepted);
  • A copy of the biographic page of your passport or travel document;
  • A copy of airline ticket confirming the date of your arrival to Thailand as well as your departure from the country;
  • If you are not an Australian citizen, a proof of Australia Electronic Visa is required.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES

Validity of a Visa: The validity of a visa is 6 months.

Period of Stay: Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days per visit.

Visa Processing Fee: $225.00 AUD per application

Documents Required:

  • Your actual Passport or Travel Document. (Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page);
  • A completed and signed application FORM A;
  • One passport-size photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm.) taken within 6 months with a full-face view without hat or glasses. (Photocopy not accepted);
  • A copy of the biographic page of your passport or travel document;
  • A copy of airline ticket confirming the date of your first and second entry into Thailand within the validity period of visa;
  • If you are not an Australian citizen, a proof of Australia Electronic Visa is required.

Submitting Application by Mail:

  • Send all required documents to Royal Thai Embassy – Visa Section, 111 Empire Circuit, Yarralumla, ACT 2600
  • A self-addressed return envelope must be provided.
  • Payment in a Money Order made payable to “the Royal Thai Embassy.” Cash not accepted. (You can buy a Money Order from the post office)

The extension of stay and change of certain types of visa is at the discretion of the immigration officer.

A lot different than most others.

No financial proof or proof of employment.

That one suggests those with a valid Australian visa can apply.

If the requirements do exclude proof of employment and the need to show significant financial resource then the visa may be attractive to many.

An intriguing inconsistency here. I wonder if it’s just an error?

single entry

multiple entry

" A copy of airline ticket confirming the date of your first and second entry into Thailand within the validity period of visa "

i.e. only interested in the entry into Thailand and no mention of the departure tickets which in fact is directly opposite what Bali Indonesia used to require for triple entry. They said they didn’t care how you got into Thailand only when and how you were leaving.
