Why Do I Always Have Problems To Connect Phones ( Android) To Windows 10?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just curious if others experience similar problems? If I lug it into Windows 7, it immediately installs the driver(s) and I'm good to go.

Not the first time that it happened. I just don't wanna spend half a day to find the right solution. If I install Samsung Kies, it never connects and shows weird messages like file xgat was not installed.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks a lot in advance. wai2.gif

You'll need to give a better description of what issue you're running into (or anticipating running into), and what you want to accomplish by plugging the phone via USB into a PC, like transferring music, photos, what?? Also, say what version of Android you're using, as there are version differences.

Some android phones will default to 'charge only' mode when first plugged in, and you have to select "Transfer Files (MTP)', Transfer Photos (PTP)', or 'MIDI' mode either in the notification dropdown item or System Menu.

No problem here.

I see W10 gives me some options such as transfering photos,

which I did not have in W7

Kies recognises the phone easily.
