hello again

we are currently applying for my gfs uk tourist visa and i was wondering (probably expecting the worst) if her visa was refused does she have to wait for a period of time before she can apply again?

she is 50/50 thai philly and has 2 passports could she just go back and apply in the phillipines(obviosly after we have rectified the problems) straght away? and would the fact she had been refused in thailand count against her if she applied again using her phillipine passport?

one last thing(and im not trying to get round the system)we have asked for a one month visa wich i believe once she enters the uk a six month stamp is put in her passport and legally she is allowed to stay for the whole six months, i do understand that if she did this would count against her for future applications but if she entered the uk on her thai passport and visa and then returned to thailand using her phillipine passport would they be able to tell if she had gone over the month we asked for? i know this sounds dodgy but i was just intrigued to know?

thanks all

If you have a one month visa, why will they let you in for six months?

Also, if she returned to Thailand, why would she want to enter on her Philippines passport? They would only give her 30 days and then she'd have to leave Thailand. Best to enter on the Thai one, Mark.

i just wonder as i have heard various people say that a uk tourist visa regardless of how long you actually ask for, is a six month visa and you can legally stay for the duration of this, i understand that if you did it would cause problems for future applications but putting this aside staying in the uk for the whole six months is not a crime??

thanks for your reply

Mark,

If your girlfriend's application were refused by the embassy In Bangkok, her details would be circulated on the Warnings Index, so if she then tried to apply in Manila, her name would show up as having been refused in Bangkok.

There is nothing preventing your girlfriend from entering the UK on, for example, her Thai passport and then leaving on her Filipino one. However, there would then be no record in her Thai passport of having arrived back in Thailand having been to the UK and this would be queried by the visa officer should a subsequent visa application be made.

Generally speaking, visitors are given entry for 6 months even if they've requested less.

Scouse.
