Can't find any contact details for Sound Hotel (Formerly Xin City Samui) in Chaweng.

Anyone know if it's still open? We would like to stay there. Yes, we know it's loud.... suits us fine... party & nice rooms.

I've never booked with AsiaTravel. Sources seem to say they're legit - can anyone confirm? My worry is that when I try to book with AsiaTravel, it comes up as the Xin City, which is the old hotel, replaced by Sound Hotel.

Opinions?

Any alternative? Clean room (AC) with a pool and not a complete 'resort'... just looking for no-nonsense (but clean) comfortable accom. in Chaweng with a pool (doesn't have to be big) to dip in after a day out-and-about. Budgeting for about 2,000 - 2,500 baht per night staying 2 nights Dec 21 - 23. To give an idea, we're mid/late 20's couple.

I messaged another place there who got back to me instantly; Sound Hotel not open anymore. Just a heads up as there's a website still taking bookings.

Hard Rock Cafe is opening there this month.

Try Chaweng garden across the beach road.

Sound Hotel is closed and will reopen December as Hard Rock Café Hotel, as Poor Sucker said above - have not checked if already open. And Chaweng Garden across is fine bungalows and actually very quiet, even almost in middle of night life area; had friends staying there a few years back. Otherwise Ark Bar Resort is a good alternative - many young folks prefer to stay there - nice newly build rooms at affordable prices, and the famous Ark Bar beach party just stone-throw away (think to remember you ask for party area last year).
