Boston University strips Bill Cosby of honorary degree over sex abuse allegations

BOSTON: -- Boston University has decided to strip Bill Cosby of a honorary degree it awarded to him last year, citing the legendary comedian’s sworn testimony after he was sued for sexual abuse.

University President Robert Brown said in a statement that the Board’s decision “was based on a determination, supported by Mr. Cosby’s sworn deposition testimony, that his treatment of women has brought significant and lasting discredit upon himself and is inconsistent with the University’s mission and values.” Brown added that the university only learned of Cosby’s alleged conduct after awarding the degree at the 141st Commencement ceremony in May 2014.

“[His admitted conduct] demonstrates that his character fails to reflect the integrity and virtues that the University values and esteems in members of its community, and in those persons the University holds up for this particular honor,” Brown added.

To summarize: They give someone a honorary degree because he can crack some good jokes (hardly something that earns a degree....degree in what?? Dr. Joke).

Than the strip him of it because of allegations (not found guilty by a court yet).

Maybe they should also strip themself of the title "University"

He was considered to be a leader of African Americans, for many years. Black and White people looked up to him. Most of his friends have now

stopped talking to him because he raped 20-30 women. Not Guilty Yet ??? True but I guess you believe OJ Simpson was just a great NFL running back and not a murderer. He had his trial and got off. Bill Cosby may still get off or delay things with his 2 billion is saving, until he dies.
