I can't type my address in. Just isn't recognized. Probably my Thai translation. When I'm actually at home, and open maps...is there anyway I can select my home point on the map rather than type in the actual address?

You can try entering the GPS coordinates instead of a 'Thai Land Plot' address.

Google seems to only likes locations that have been traveled by their street-view vehicles, so the actual place-marker used may be moved to a main road (but it should be close).

Degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS): 41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E
Degrees and decimal minutes (DMM): 41 24.2028, 2 10.4418
Decimal degrees (DD): 41.40338, 2.17403

Decimal Degrees seems to be the easiest.

On a PC, place a marker by clicking the mouse on the map, a window/flag should appear with the GPS DD at the bottom

On an Android device, press-hold on the map, then tap the resultant flag marker. The GPS DD should appear at the bottom.

Sorry, there doesn't seem to be a way to copy/paste the results, you'll have to hand-enter the coordinates as your HOME address.

I did actually sort of work it out. Like u said tap on the area for a drop pin, then tap on the address bar down the bottom and it expands. Then you can hold finger on the address and copy. Then paste into home address. Like you said it seems to pick the closest area know to maps. In my case a few streets away but close enough. That's on my Android. Can I actually sign on my PC and make adjustments that will also appear on my phone?

Thanks so much for your help

Yes, for the most part, if you are logged into google account, the same entries will appear on the Web interface and the Android/iOS app versions.

There are some google maps setting that seem to only be available in the Web app or Mobile Maps app.

When playing with this I noticed that some GPS entries would wind up adjusted many hundred meters away, while resetting the flag again with a new GPS would be a lot closer. Nothing allows setting home 'dead on'.

Well, at least you're a lot closer that you were.
