BANGKOK: -- Thailand today gave a warm welcome to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on his first visit to the country as the guest of the government.

As soon as Mr Hun Sen came out the car, PM Prayut offered him a handshake and both leaders seen hugging each other.

Hun Sen who is on a two-day official visit was later led by Gen Prayut to review the Guards of Honour by Gen Prayut at Government House on a formal welcoming ceremony.

The Cambodian prime minister’s visit to Thailand is the first time in 12 years after he came to power.

Both the Thai prime minister and Premier Hun Sen will meet at 3 pm today at Dusit Thani Hotel to discuss economic cooperation and the prime minister will host a dinner party as an honour for his Cambodian counterpart tonight at Santi Maitree building in Government House.

The two-day state visit by Mr Hun Sen also marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two kingdoms.

According to Bangkok Post, Gen Prayut and Mr Hun Sen and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will co-chair the 2nd Cambodia-Thailand Joint Cabinet Retreat where officials will discuss politics and security, as well as economic, social, cultural and educational issues.

Prayut to Hun Sen...

"Dude, you've hung on to power for, like, fricking EVER! Tell me how? I'm all ears."

I just wish it was somebody with half a brain (like Lee Kuan Yew) asking that question.

I know that Prayuth is a bit mad but it appears the poor old boy is actually scizhophrenic.

Thaksins mate getting a warm welcome. I guess Hun Sen has years of experienced suppressing his own people. These two will be like peas in a pod.

Fond of rubies too. ...

Prayut seeking advice on how to cling onto power.

"As soon as Mr Hun Sen came out the car, PM Prayut offered him a handshake and both leaders seen hugging each other."

The blind (with power) leading the blind (with power).

12 years in power? More than 30 years in fact

12 years in power? More than 30 years in fact

Exactly.....and of course, how many of his own people died?

What about that temple dispute on the border? Seems forgotten and all is sweet now?

Thailand always has the red carpet out for neigbouring scoundrels. Just as they did with Pol Pot when he fled in Cambodia and was embraced into the welcoming arms of the Thais. This was after Vietnamese liberated Cambodia and put and end to Pol Pot's murderous reign.

"According to Bangkok Post, Gen Prayut and Mr Hun Sen and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha...."

As if one of him wasn't enough now there's two Uncle Toos. One's a Gen and the other a PM but they'll only both come out for a bird of a feather.

OK...so they admire one another....that is no surprise.
