English information on articles in grocery stores

I always wanted to ask this:

Why are most articles produced in Thailand from international companies do not include English information? (washing powder, shampoo...)
This would not only help foreign tourists to buy more local products, but also help locals to learn English.

No excuse about lack of space on the package. Many products in the European union label their products with over 10 languages.

Maybe some members have connections to the education department.
