Lycra for sports

Featured Replies

Having always had a laugh at people wearing it, I have recently come around. I was on a holiday in the south of Thailand and wore a rash guard during snorkeling and often out of the water too. It was made of lycra i guess and what struck me was how cool it was and how I could sweat in it and dry out fast without looking like a mess.

So I recently tried it during fishing, and found that I could wear it all day and sweat all I want and still look decent. Normally I need 3 or more T shirts during a day of fishing and they would be drenched in a short time. Especially when catching big mekong catfish.

Now I was doing some shopping at central and went into the sports section and saw some lycra for workouts. So I thought what the hell lets buy a set. So today I worked out in my gym (alone got a home gym) and must say its quite comfortable to workout in. Sweat just goes of faster and you don't feel as sticky.

Just giving my opinion here that it really does have its uses for people who sweat a lot and do some serious workouts. I think it could even help me in situations where I would go out and sweat a lot. Too bad I think I would be to shy to wear it in fear of being called a showoff. But it certainly has its uses for sports.

So for anyone who laughed at it but sweats a lot.. just try it once and see how you like it.

It must be good because the police wear a brown catsuit, perhaps for that very reason?
