I have made this journey before and I got the train from HH to Bangkok, then a bus to Mukdahan. However I am now aware of the yellow bus company that so say has a direct route? I checked out their website which is sketchy at best and I cannot find what time the bus leaves Hua Hin and where it leaves. Can anybody offer some help here and also if you have had any experiences with the company, cheers

Pretty sure the yellow buses all use the bus station on Petchkasem Road near Soi 92. If it's convenient, you could visit and check the signboards at each bus station's counter and maybe suss out the departure time. (Some counters seem to be staffed only within a couple hours of the bus arrival/departure times.)
