My tablet seems to have an unlimited appetite for applications and what is even more bizarre it never closes them.

My question= what 1-click application do you use to close all of them? I'm interested in tested applications more than what the Internet offers.

Yes Android. Well, I have seen 1-click application stops but some of them are asking for outrageous privileges. Therefore I'm looking for someone who is actively using a one-click application stop with success.

Depending on your version of Android, often you can long press the home button/icon and all open apps will come up, usually with a "Clear All Apps" option or swipe them out individually.

If you have an older version of Android with four option buttons on the lower left home screen, the one with concentric squares when tapped will show all open apps.

My Lenovo allows me to double tap anywhere it then launches a list at the bottom of the screen. I can either open an app or close one individually or press an on screen button to clean all.

Android OS is designed to keep recent apps in memory, so they can be launched quickly when reopening (especially when going back and forth between apps). Normally this shouldn't be a problem, as the memory space allocated will be recovered from the oldest app when another app requires memory to run.

An issue arises when a 'backgrounded app' continues to function, using Network, GPS, and/or CPU resources.

As DDDAVE stated, you can long-press the home button/icon and all open apps will come up. Then, depending on the interface, you can swipe then Up/Down, or on Marshmallow wait for the 'X' to appear and select those you wish to close -- or selecting the app to bring it to the foreground as the primary running app.

The other option is, as stated, to go into APPS and force close the app.

To have say 50 tabs open like deck of cards is utterly useless if the work I am doing requires quick access to perhaps 6 apps. That would be the ideal to have an app which permits to keep only apps of my choice open.
