PHUKET: -- An Australian expat was found dead in his Rawai home this morning, confirmed the Chalong Police.

Peter Anatoli, 60, was discovered on the kitchen floor of his home by his house cleaner, Lt Chanat Hongsittichaikul of the Chalong Police said.

“Mr Anatoli’s cleaner told us that Mr Anatoli had lived alone and allegedly would get drunk and often fall down,” Lt Chanat said. “We found no signs of a struggle on the body or any indication that the house had been ransacked. We believe that he slipped and hit his head.”

“We found no signs of a struggle on the body or any indication that the house had been ransacked. We believe that he slipped and hit his head.”

So if he slipped and hit his head wouldn't there be a inflamed area or red bump or marked ?

where was his thai gf ? and his mobile ?

I stopped counting these slipped, fell, heart attack, accidental, digested myth stories months ago ............ coffee1.gif

Good you stopped counting. I also stopped counting the stories from people who suspect the worst when there is no indication at all for that.

An other one bites the dust .Thailand seems to be Very accident prone for many Foreigners/Sexpats/Tourists.

Not really. This is an Expat web site; so they report the deaths. In your home country; it wouldn't be news.

I agree every day its a foreigner getting murdered. I stopped believing the slip and falls and leapers

suicides

all that garbage years ago. All lies. If its true this is the mist accident prone place ever known to man.

In every reported death of a foreigner you can nearly guarantee to read "no signs of a struggle" and "the door was locked from the inside".

Given a certain number of deaths there will certainly be accidental deaths, suicides and natural death's, but NOT ALL of them and yet they all seem to lead to a quick simple solution that requires no in depth investigating.

What did he slip on?

What type of wound was on this head?

What did he hit his head on?

Was the wound consistent with where he hit his head.

Come on reporter...report!

Really, in my home country they even report on dogs or cats dying.

This may be not the case...but...I am tired to see foreigners showing off about its assets, money in the bank, jewelry, etc, in public, and specially with its wives and GF......In the land of the easy and perfect crime?

It is a say: Who is more guilty?.....the one who assaults.....or the one who provokes?

.....no proof...but stereotyping.... and character defamation...

...'they' said so...so it must be true.....

..good enough...case closed.....

...what a pathetic load of crock....

...how did she gain access to the house....

The fact that his apartment was not "ransacked" is no indication that he was not robbed of easily removable items - and second hand "evidence" of his inebriation should not be taken at face value or any assumption made about how he got his head injury.

This unfortunate man's relatives should insist on an autopsy before he goes up in smoke and any real evidence of how he met his untimely end is destroyed.

Hardly a day goes by without a falang resident or visitor dying in suspicious circumstances, to the almost total unconcern of the Thai authorities. A website which records the deaths of foreigners in LOS is now up and running and deserves our support (http://www.farang-deaths.com/)

Jesus, there are many old farang men in Thailand who drink like fish all frickin' day.

maybe he was just a unhappy, overweight, old man who drank himself to death.

case closed.

RIP.

It does appear that many foreigners who come to Thailand do meet with untimely death. It would be interesting to compare foreign deaths in Thailand with foreign deaths in other countries.

Whilst I agree with the er, thrust of your post, fact is, gather together a lot of aging farang men pissing it up and whoring in a 'tourist destination' actively encouraged to engage in this behaviour on a daily basis and what do you expect? It's not as if this country gears itself toward those who seeking healthy lifestyles of which soever kind. Does it blink.png

The questions you ask are very rarely reported anywhere, let alone Thailand. Even if they were, the TVF investigators would find fault and come up with their forever cynical responses.

Help! I've fallen over and can't get up!

That irreverence aside... RIP... Now all your troubles are gone

But... This is marginally better reporting than the balcony jumper with an uptured balcony table and " no signs of a struggle" according to police

This one, knowing Aussies, I can believe.

How about " no comment" until an autopsy is done, verses relying on a Thai coppers first impression... These ad hoc statements, during an on going investigation are highly prejudicial... And IMHO, the coppers should be forced to attend seminars on dealing with the media

Have to disagree, in so far as this incident. Given what has been reported there is nothing prejudicial in the comments made. May well be in other instances, and if so, then they should be guarded on how they appraise the situation and comment on it. Yes, a lesson in media reporting wouldn't go astray with most but then we have to be careful as to how the media report as well, many of then have a lot to answer on the way they provide their misinformation.

Fair comment, in this instance, and undoubtedly many more that the conspiracy theorist jump to ill informed conclusions about.... But with the rash of suicide incidents of late, I was casting a wider net, as you summised.... I should have been more specific.

I've seen several instances in my condo of falangs drinking themselves to death. One chose the exit of eating himself to death.

Sad, but it happens. Conspiracy theory notwithstanding.
