PHUKET: -- Visitors to the island received a tremendous surprise today (Jan 8), the sighting of a Killer Whale just of the coast of Freedom Beach. Freedom Beach is a 300m-long strip of white sand at the southern end of Patong Beach next to Tri Tang Beach.

The Orca or Killer Whales can be found in all oceans, from Arctic and Antarctic regions to tropical seas. Killer whales are highly social; some populations are composed of matrilineal family groups which are the most stable of any animal species, but there is only one single Orcaseen in the picture.

Though I have to enhance my new hobby spear fishing with a pair of water skies....

Something wrong with this photo. There's no wake, and 4/5 of it's body is out of the water. Photo shopped isn't it?

It seems to have 'surfaced' rather than 'breached' if you will. Rather popped up for a breath of air as Mammals need to....

I would guess less than 2/5 of its body is out of the water. They don't leave a wake when they've just popped up.

Better to see when all the body is out of the water.

I love Orcas.

?

The dorsal fin you see is approx halfway along the body; it is not a 'tail' as you might suggest

Maybe 20% above water level

It better keep moving or it could end up on the BBQ here.....

They still hunt whales in Indonesia when they are not blowing coral reefs apart with dynamite.

They still hunt whales in America when they are not spilling oil in the gulf.

100% photoshopping.

A shame that T. Visa (snoop newsteam) reacts to this kind of liing.

Here's the vid:

Nobody's perfect.

Only the Natives in Alaska. But they eat what they kill. Japan kills hundreds every year !! Selling to the highest bidder.

Obviously he/she? wants to join the dolphinarium in Phuket. tongue.png

In the posted video, which is in Indonesia, the people killing the whales are also natives just like the Inuits, doing what they have always done and only killing what they will eat. That is why I made the comparison with the Inuits, as this is completely irrelevant to Indonesia allowing the dynamiting of reefs on a commercial fishing scale, just as the Inuits eating whale meat is irrelevant to the US caused gulf oil spill.

and this is breaking news ? blink.png

This is quite awesome, rare and indeed Breaking Good News for a change. A rather nice diversion from the incessant and all too frequent "If It Bleeds, It Leads" everyday...everywhere. coffee1.gif

Please provide proof of your absurd statement. Or better yet dont as yours and the proof has no relevance to the thread.

The animal is sick or lost. Orcas are not solitary animals.

Can't imagine why someone would bother Photoshopping such a thing.

I suspect it is lost... In Australia lost whales often beach themselves, but there is a large movement dedicated to pushing the whales back on course.
