Sabai Dee Bo?

I've got a browser problem on my notebook and on my PC, when using Google. I had quite a few extensions added that seemed to be good, for example ADD block plus, a translation program and a few others.

It started about three weeks ago, when I made the mistake to sign in Google and take over all the extensions. All in a sudden, about 20 browsers tried to open. I've deleted Google, re downloaded and reinstalled it, deleted the extensions, but the problem always comes back.

And the "Edge" problem:

I'm running Windows 10 Pro and when I'm using the Edge browser, I just can't visit some webpages, not even my Hotmail E-mail address.

I've got Kaspersky as an Antivirus program, got a lot of other good programs, but none seems to find the problem.

I'd deeply appreciate if anybody has got an idea what the problems might be.I've got no idea if it would make sense to delete the Edge browser?

Thanks a lot in advance. May the Lord Buddha and the good general bless you.- wai2.gif

Sounds like malware. Adware cleaner usually works good for stuff your anti-virus misses.

Here's a link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Also Windows 10 can be reset which would probably fix it; just be sure to save any work on a separate drive first.

Thanks a lot. I've deleted all Google, including leftovers and found the culprit. A Chinese werewolf, hiding somewhere in my program files.

It didn't have a name, only a long number. I was shocked when some Chinese Animation soft porn started to pop up and tried to play something on the school computer.

It might be my colleague with her infected thumb drive. It seems that they're always using NOD, a version that is a virus.

Thanks a lot for your advice.

WE're all different and I really like Google Chrome. Of course if all works. Found the Chinese freaking virus. None of my programs from Malware bytes to Kaspersky picked it up.

Some free ADD blockers Google offers are pretty good. But they do not just block adds, they let me sign in TVF again and again, every time I like to reply, or write something.

Set a restore point on your Windows 10 if you haven't already. It can save you a bunch of headaches if you get a bad infection.

Chrome is fine, you can choose what to sync and I use it to sync bookmarks across all devices.

You got hit by malware, nothing to do with Google.

And it will save passwords if you so wish (like TV).

Boy, you sure do have a lot of problems with your computers! I suggest that you immediately set restore points on all of your computers that are running well and create a bootable restore cd or flash drive that you can use to boot your computers in case you need to restore from backups. You do have backups for all of your computers, don't you?

Stay away from all extensions and utility programs that are not reputable and well-known. You can install Malwarebytes Pro which, although it's not free, is a good investment because it will block malware from installing on your computer when you visit a dangerous website. You must be doing that or you wouldn't be getting malware on your computer.

In a worst-case scenario, be ready to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Sometimes that is quicker than spending a lot of time to fix difficult problems. Good luck.

Never put another person's USB drive on your computer. Quickest way to get a virus.

I'd love to put my USB drive into her computer. 25, single and stunning. facepalm.gif

Thanks a lot. Of course do I have more problems with all sorts of soft and hardware problems than many other people, because I keep six machines alive and running.

Unfortunately, did I do a huge mistake and synchronizing all Google account settings made it happen that three machines got infected.

My DELL installed a new Windows 10 via update, one school computer all in a sudden decided to lock me out. No password I'm ever using fit in, so I had to find the right program and was surprised.

Another school computer "decided to use" my e-mail addy as my username and I was lucky that my e-mail password worked out.

I found a program ( won't tell people here what it is for understandable reasons) and I can easily delete all passwords of any PC"s, notebooks, or networks.

All I need to do its to boot from CD and I can choose which accounts I "free". Really scary when I think what criminals can do with such a program.

I still got the problem and will have to delete all settings plus Google again and start from scratch on. One of my external hard drives did, of course the one where I had all back ups stashed on.

I found out that there's a big problem with Acronis and Windows 10 Pro. I stopped using it and might try the 2015 version on the weekend.

I'll install the paid version of Malwarebytes and see if it finds something on my notebook. Thanks a lot for your help, really deeply appreciated.

What's the problem with Acronis and Windows 10? I found out once you've got more than two backups on an external, it's very complicated,, because the drive letters change.

G'Day.-

I'll look into the problem with Acronis and Windows 10. I'm using them too.

When you say that one computer decided to use you email address and your email password to log on, would that be your hotmail address? It may be requiring you to use your Microsoft account for the computer.

It's too bad that the hard drive containing your backups died. It's good to have redundancy with your backups stored in more than one place. Having two external drives plus one cloud drive is a good policy.

Please consider doing a fresh install on your problem machines and creating redundant backups for them. Various utilities may allow you to delete passwords and perform other changes on your machines but if they confuse you and make things complicated they won't be helpful in the end.

I'm not sure that I understand your synchronizing all of your Google settings. Google should be automatically synchronized on all of the machines on which you run Chrome and Gmail.

There must be a reason that your machines decide to lock you out and require new passwords. What are you doing to trigger this? I suggest that you use your Microsoft account for each machine so that it won't be confusinng to you. Good luck.

Acronis is "clean" and works well on all other programs, but not always with Windows 10. I had a few problems when trying to restore. Or the blue screen came on when I tried to run it?

One is for sure, I'll never store more than 2 backups of 2 machines on one external drive, it seem to cause some problems, not just the different drive letters.

I just installed Malwarebytes Premium on my DELL which I had to restore, because the Windows button plus the search field didn't work anymore and it found 6,457 problems, but decided to not respond anymore.....

And I've got about 600 + worksheets, including math handouts to check before 4.30 pm......

Thanks a lot for your tips.
