treehugger Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Hello, I've found this forum in my last minute researching into a getaway adventure. Im English/French 29 M, after years of starting up a business in London UK, I finally have a gap in my work life and am booking a flight to Bangkok in the next few days. I'll be over for 2 weeks. If anyone can give me any useful advise... Hotel when i get to Bangkok. Good/trusted motorbike hire in Bangkok. Places to visit if they were me. I grew up in KL and Singapore before leaving for UK aged 13. I use a forum like this in the UK and have always found the people very friendly and helpful, if anyone has anything to say! please reply! MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE
cm das Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I'd say come up north - there are loads of beautiful & good quality roads through the mountains in the north. The weather's a bit cooler & life in general is more laid back than around BKK. You can rent bikes easily in Chiang Mai. Check out gt-rider.com for advice & ideas on routes, etc. Good luck & enjoy.
