Woman refused entry to Thailand after ripping pages from passport to use as loo roll when drunk

LONDON: -- A British traveller was kicked out of Thailand by border officers after ripping pages out of her passport to use as toilet paper when she was drunk.

Faye Wilson was forced to turn back at the Thai airport and was escorted all the way back to the UK by a security guard after they spotted the missing pages.

She said she had been too mortified to reveal the truth and tried to claim she had "lost" them - but the sceptical officers promptly deported her.

Escorted all the way back to England by a security guard? Seems a bit much. Surely just putting her on a plane would have been enough.

Anyway, she deserved what she got.

I wonder if she'll be able to get a new passport after she willfully damaged the existing one.

Her application form for a replacement should be a good read, listed in the Fiction category perhaps.

Was she really escorted all the way back ? Good that the security guard had a passport and it was handy but wouldn't he / she need a visa which would take time ?

Escorted onto a plane bound for Britain sounds more like it.

I call bull.

No way a "security guard" escorts her from Thailand to Dubai to Glasgow.

"Before I could explain more, they had deported me back to Dubai and then to Glasgow and confiscated my documents.

"I felt like I was a criminal - people were looking at me wondering why a border official is someone sat with me the whole time. I don't know what a criminal looks like but I'm not one."

"We were walking from one bar to the next and we must have been desperate for a wee and obviously didn't have any toilet roll," she said"

Uh huh. Bull. How did she get through Immigration to get onto the flight to Thailand in the first place ?

Sounds more like she had something to hide (like a deportation stamp) and ripped the pages out while on the plane.

Or the whole story is bull and is just another one of those ones that people sell to organizations that buff them and resell them to other media outlets. One even advertises that if your story is good enough, they'll pay for your vacation.

Edit: (rather than adding another post). One trip I made from Canada to Thailand in the late 90s had me sitting next to a guy who'd just been deported. He'd travelled (on separate tickets) from Australia to Japan, Japan to Canada and was trying to fly from Canada (Vancouver) to the US (Seattle). His story was that US immigration refused to let him get on the flight to Seattle (they have a check point inside the airport) because he didn't have a Visa for the US. I think his story was BS as well as he said "his girlfriend" had his Visa and was waiting for him in Seattle (his case wasn't helped by the biker tats and appearance).

For whatever reason he couldn't enter Canada either and supposedly sat in an Immigration Detention cell for 3 days until "they" (Canadian Immigration I guess) could arrange to fly him back to his last point of departure (which was Japan as that was the ticket he arrived on).

He wasn't escorted by anyone and was only flown back to Japan. I (jokingly) chastised my travel agent when I got back for sticking me beside that guy for the 11+ hour flight. The travel guy (a Flight Center agent) told me that Immigration often used them for such matters because of their prices.

This story was in the British press hours ago. She had been using the passport for the last five years with said pages missing with no problem.

She gets to Thailand and is refused entry despite the fact she had the correct visa etc.

She also didn't go back to the UK but to Dubai before going onto Scotland.

Escorted to the gate to board the plane, is probably closer to the truth.

If Thailand can cause you problems it will. Where's Captain Jack when you need him?

Edit. don't suppose she needed a visa.

Brit refused entry to Thailand after ripping out passport pages to use for toilet paper during drunken night out

Faye Wilson, 28, was left red-faced after having to explain to Thai immigration officials what happened to the vital document

LONDON: -- A British woman was refused entry to Thailand after using her passport as toilet paper during a drunken night out.

Faye Wilson, 28, was left red-faced after having to explain to Thai immigration officials what happened to the vital document.

The hairdresser had used two pages to wipe herself after being caught short while boozing.

But the quick-fix badly backfired as she tried to travel from Australia to the Asian country.

Even if she had lost the pages (how is anyone's guess) she would have been denied entry. This is the second time in the past few years a British lass has been denied entry due to missing pages. Last time the brat went to the media and it was this whole bash Thailand for being too harsh on her debacle. The thing is though that no decent country (certainly no 1st world country) would let you in with missing pages: It's a security risk

This woman bust be a total moron to think for a moment that a torn passport will be ok to use to enter any country,

or that her refusal entry stamp is only in her passport and not in the immigration's data bank....

people like her should stay home with such diminished brain capacity or she will hurt herself.....

And the story has changed already. Now it is that she ripped those pages out 5 years ago and was travelling from Australia to Thailand (but was deported to Dubai, then Scotland).

Travelled "up to" 8 times in the 5 years since she allegedly tore out the pages and not one Immigration officer noticed until she tried to go to Thailand ? Uh uh. Possible perhaps if she only went to places where they had electronic scanners and not actual Immigration officers. I recall Vancouver having the electronic passport scanners (only for Canadian citizens though), and in Dubai I had an "E-Gate" card which allowed me to use the electronic gates instead of going through the Immigration Officer, but that was only good for 2 years at a time and required my passport to be checked and scanned by an Immigration official when I got the card and again when I needed to renew it.

the ass wipe is a cover for something completely more serious....I mean nobody can possibly be that stupid or that drunk or both...

A sane albeit drunk person would take of undies and use those for wiping, then dispose the undies and continue without them.

Would be nice to get an explanation as to why an escort was considered necessary for someone with a mutilated passport and, apparently, nothing else.

She was denied entry here but why did Thai authorities not simply put her on a plane and let Britain deal with the criminal offence of deliberately damaging government property ?
