That stuff usually has LAXATIVES in it so not sure it belongs on a health forum as dependency on laxatives is known to be a dangerous approach to weight loss.

Agreed. There are many brands of "slimming coffee" in Thailand. The ones sold in little kiosks etc are not approved by the Thai FDA, and usually contain laxatives and sometimes also dangerous amounts of stimulants. One of my neighbors, otherwise young healthy girl, ended up in Coronary Care Unit with severe cardiac arrythmias from drinking one of these.

In other cases (i.e. the coffees on grocery store shelves), it is simply coffee with some white bean extract and will do next to nothing in terms of weight or appetite; lots of brands to choose from.

Very inadvisable.

Good point ... laxatives plus stimulants.

I know Thai boxers use that stuff for a temporary weight loss to make weight ... maybe it's not that bad for such short term purposes, but as any kind of long term plan ... FORGET IT!
