Motorbike Registration Agent

Featured Replies

Hi,

So, I just bought a new(used) motorbike and now I need to get it registered. I think I more or less understand the process, but the woman I bought the bike from suggested that there might be agents, much like the ones who assist with visas, who can do the registration for me. I've tried every type of google search I can think up, but found nothing so far. So, a two part question:

1. Does anyone know of such an agent? Please include whatever usable information to contact them.

2. Are the agents out at the Motor Registry office? I've looked at a couple of directions and even seen a YouTube video telling how to get there.. but the road seems a bit busy for my little motorbike, so I'd love to avoid the trip if possible.

Thanks,

Help if you tell us the City your in? Need the Proper Visa and a certificate from Immigration showing your address..Most Motor bike shops can help with the rest for a fee of course

What visa do you need ? Is that a non-proper visa or proper-non-b visa, maybe a proper-o visa or even a multiple-proper visa ?

I think it's a better idea to go to a proper immigration office and get a proper certificate of residence.

Then it's just a matter of going to the land transport Dept, letting them fill in the forms for you, buying a tax stamp, standing in a few queues, sometimes getting the serial numbers checked. If you play dumb, they will do all the paperwork and point you to the next counter for free, no charge. Honestly it's no biggie - just a morning or day of your time.

But the question is .. Yes, ask about, one of those bike shops that sells HP repossession bikes can do it for you, but chances are - you are going to need a certificate of residence from immigration, which I gather isn't too hard to get in Pattaya.

Right. just take Cert of Residence from Immigration

& passport to any shop that sells or inspects motos.

They will handle for a modest fee.

If you don't want convenience, go on out to LTO, if you can find it.

The best agent for this is On Sukhumvit road between Klang and Pattaya North road just past orphanage and right next to Stipholek gym

Firstly You will need residence certificate from Jomtien, you can get this on any visa just show proof of address, take your passport to agent also

You will need to bring along the original owner also, same documents required if farang but if Thai just need ID card

is the bike registered in the area you live

has the seller given you any copies of her id etc

has the seller signed both forms.

did you buy from a Thai

have you handed over the money

Thanks everyone.. found a motorcycle shop near the seller (Bangsaray) who is handling the whole thing for 1100 baht.. (maybe not the cheapest, but not bad).
