PSA For those that have a Kindle E Reader

Featured Replies

I think there are a few posters out there with a kindle reader and just thought I'd pass this on as I was sent this article about updating your older kindle software now

Just to note you can do the update later manually but if you want to do it the easy way best to have a look at the Amazon page

http://www.amazon.co...58317761&sr=1-6 for info on how to auto update.

Cheers,

Bob

Got a notification about this from Amazon a few weeks back.

I assumed they sent it to everyone.

You would have thought so but I have an older touch and the new paper white and wouldn't have known unless I saw the article. Strange though as I just bought 2 books last week.

Here 'tis:

Dear Customer,

In the next few weeks your Kindle e-reader will receive a free, over-the-air software update. We know that readers are always looking for ways to discover their next favourite book, and this update provides new ways to help you do just that. While this update will happen automatically, it won't affect your library or the e-books on your device. Take a look at what's new!

Personalised Home Screen

Your new Home screen highlights your most recent reads, samples you've downloaded, items on your Amazon Wish List, relevant book recommendations and more.

Easily Access Popular Settings

Our readers' most-used settings—such as Aeroplane Mode and Device Sync—can now be found in the same place with just one tap on your toolbar.

Get Book Recommendations

Not sure what to read next? Choose your favourite genres and rate a few books you've already enjoyed—you'll see a list of recommended titles to help you discover more books you'll love.

Sharing Made Easy

Share your favourite book or quote with friends and family via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter. With one tap, they'll be able to instantly read a free preview of the book—right from their browser on their phone, tablet or PC—even if they've never used Kindle before. No download, sign-up or sign-in required.

Thank you for reading with Kindle!

They've been sending me this email weekly.

I have no intention of upgrading as I have an older version of the OS installed which allows me to add extra fonts, and that make my reading easier.

I've had the Paperwhite just over 3 years and I've used it daily with no problems.

I have a 3rd generation keyboard and thanks to this thread got it updated in time.☺
