IMA_FARANG Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Imperial Tobacco Corporation has announced that this year (2016) it will begin a phased shutdown and job reductions in many of its cigarette factories in the U.K.....due to dropping demand worldwide for cigarettes. One of the main targets for a factory closure.....and associated job reductions and redundancies is their cigarette factory in Nottingham which will result in around 900 job losses in the area. ITC said that many of these jobs will be going to Eastern European areas where...."Production costs and workers salaries are cheaper",
tukkytuktuk Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 The worldwide demand has dropped? Has this tobbaco corporation been to China?
ukrules Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Don't worry, the government will have more than replaced the income tax / social security payments by massively increased duty rates on tobacco.
