In Patong, there's a shoe repair shop that can do heavy-duty sewing. It's a fairly large shop on Phisit Koranee Rd - the name is something like "Mr. Fix". Did a great job of re-bonding and stitching up my athletic shoes. I wouldn't be surprised if he can do zipper repairs as well.
