Hi,

Does anyone know of where I can get back waxing (hair removal) in Bangkok? Looking for a clean and professional service, perhaps the 5-star hotels?

Please advise.

I may be wrong, but I understood the 'more professional' services only provide the standard areas (legs, arms, underarms, chin, upper lip and bikini line).

And they simply refuse to wax any other area (including back) that is not in their list :o

I know there is a salon (not-so-5-star-style :D (!!) ) that performs back waxing.

It is on one of the upper floors of MBK (sorry I forgot which one, but they are located same area). Fast, effective. And rather cheap (I think about 300.00THB for the whole back :D )

Good luck!

Well, it seems that most Asian gals have a violent dislike for hairy back :D

( along with some other 'ungraceful' things like beer belly and early balding )

For those macho men who consider it as vain and effeminate, well that's your opinion and let it be.

Asian girls are more conscious of these issues than most of their farang siblings...

(though they have this amazing innate ability to make their praise of their 'unperfect' honey really sound genuine and honest :D )

And apart from the smoother skin (more desirable in most women's eyes), I assume also that it is also more 'hygienic' in Thailand's hot and humid weather :D

I once had an (Asian) BF who used to shave his armpits and some other place... Kinda loved it :o

Staying away from the esthetics of the issue except to mention that most male models are hairless, at least that part shown on film.

Laser hair removal has become very popular among men in the U.S. that prefer to have less body hair. It is far more permanent and with the low cost of medical proceedures in Thailand, would be my choice, if available.

I would suggest calling the local hospitals that have a variety of laser machines and inquire as to the proceedure. Couldn't be as painful as waxing and reportedly is largely permanent, ie. one time does it.

Updates requested.

travelgirl.....your opinion is yours only...haha not all asianwomen like smooth skinned effeminate looking guys.......some do like the hairy macho real bloke look !! And it is not neccesarily true that it is more healthy in this climate as smooth skin would stick to smooth skin ......som hair might be advantagous to stop the ole crotch rot...hahaha
