Classic Shell..Windows 10?

Featured Replies

Does "Classic Shell", the Window's-7 emulator used by many, including me to avoid the horrors of Windows 8 work in a similar way on Windows10?

The July 29th deadline for the free Win-10 upgrade is a little more than three months away...decision time is looming for holdouts such as myself. I'd feel a bit more comfortable if I knew that CS would still be a fall back option.

It does, but Win10 seems to turn it off automatically after the update as being "unnecessary". Easy to turn back on though.

Yes it does.

But in my humble opinion 10 really doesn't need it.

I have to agree with Crossy. I too liked the 7 shell but as said it is so much like 7 just better you just don;t need it and i found I deleted it very quickly and now am a big fan of 10. Take the plunge before the free upgrade runs out and you end up having to pay for it. thumbsup.gif

Forget it.

The start menu in Build 14328 is excellent.

OK..points taken about Win-10. Thanks for the replies.

What steps should be taken in advance of downloading the Win-10 upgrade to best avoid issues during and after the download?

I know a full system back-up is recommended: what is the simplest way to accomplish that?
