Air Con technician in Prom Phong area of Sukhumvit

Featured Replies

Anyone recommend a great AC technician in this area? My indoor unit unit has been dripping water for months but the technician that has visited several times already seems to be unable to fix it. It's a Trane.

Often, dripping water from the unit is a result of a blocked drain line. Sometimes insects can go in during periods when your AC is inactive, algae clusters can also form or sometimes it's just a kink in the line. If you can, trace the drain lines route and see if a fair stream of water is coming out. For Thailand, a cup full in 30 to 45 minutes is normal. If a lot less then that is a sign of blockage and it is backing up into the unit. Usually a pretty easy job to detach the drain line and blow it out with compressed air or water from a hose.

I have used the same company for five years doing my regular 6 months maintenance cleaning (500 baht) and I always request the same technician named Marnoch. If you want the company's phone and email please private message me. I am not sure where their office is but I live in Lumpini on Rama4 Road. Also they do not speak English at the office to make the appointment, I always have my Thai friend do it for me. The are however very good and fair to work with.

If ceiling mounted unit, tech has to check if the mounting has slipped and the unit is slanting down the front.

Drainage pipe is at the rear.

If you want to get professional to take care about residence. please contact me.

I wasn't there the last few times the tech visited but he claims to have replaced the drain pipe to ensure no blockage, interesting point by trogers that it could have slipped (it's a ceiling mounted one), that would explain it.

We've also been using a service for some years in lower Sukhumvit that was recommended to us by our Thai landlord family.

The AC guy's name is Khun Pitak, and he's done a reliable, honest job for us over the years for both general cleaning and sometimes repairs, including dealing with blocked drain lines a couple of times. Standard cleaning fee 500 baht per unit.

He only speaks Thai also, but I'd be happy to share his phone number if any one desires it.
