Pattaya Speedboat Drivers at War. Shootout in Sukhumvit Road
Story by Albert Jack

PATTAYA: -- At 10pm on the evening of June 7 Pattaya police were called after reports of a shooting in front of a house in Soi Sukhumvit 60, Pattaya.

Officers were mobilised and quicky on the scene to find the entire neighbourhood, including children and the elderly, out on the street who were both shocked and frightened.

Witnesses reported that three young men, possibly teenagers, had ridden past on two motorcycles and, without warning, produced firearms and began randomly shooting until they had run out of bullets.

All of the residents had scattered and dived for cover until the gunshots stopped and the three then casually rode away. An investigation of the scene revealed damage to houses and to a black Chevrolet pick-up truck, license number 3888 and registered in Chonburi.

I never cease to be appalled by reporters seeming obsession with giving out addresses and such: ".. black Chevrolet pick-up truck, license number 3888 and registered in Chonburi." in this case. Not quite as bad as reporting some homeowner assaulted and in hospital, and btw here is his address in case someone wants to complete robbery....

Pattaya needs a Wyatt Earp. It just gets worse and worse and nothing it seems can be done about it. Just stay at home and lock the doors, keep off the streets and out of the saloons and run for cover when you hear the bullets flying about. The present sheriff and his deputies are busy in the office playing with their iPhones or making their usual monthly public relations client visits. Carry a white flag with you at all times.

And they wonder why Tourist Arrivals are down..........................??????????????

The Chinese keep coming though. I think probably the Chinese don't read the Thai News or do they have ThaiVisa.com to keep them updated with the latest Local News.

I, for one, enjoy and spend time daily (for many years now) keeping up-to-date with ThaiVisa.com............. More complete coverage than Bangkok Post or Pattaya One.........

"He said he had challenged them to a duel".

Not exactly like the old days where they met in the middle of the street at High Noon, pistols drawn and back to back....start walking for 12 paces and may the best man win.

Ahh....God be with the good old days???.
