Car recommendations
I bought second hand here once and regretted it, but that was 25+ years ago before you could get certified used cars, you could only buy from unscrupulous tents. Since then I have always bought new but that's because I planned on keeping each one for maybe 7 years. If I only thought I would be here for a couple of years I would definitely buy a certified second hand dealer car. But that's just my personal opinion, it doesn't make it right - I just don't see the point of buying new and selling it again after two years. -

Sending food back to the kitchen?
No, I do not send food back, or, in this case, take it back. My go to western comfort food is a Reuben. One of the few places in town that make it turned out this for a take away order between last Xmas & New Years. Two pieces of toasted rye cut in half, no butter, no cheese or sauerkraut or TI dressing - nothing - just bread & partially burnt pastrami. Looked like it had been stir fried in a skillet. That was it. They had also upped their price a hundred baht to 375B. I have had decent Reubens there in the past and it wasn't the price. I was back home before I opened it up. Eff me I cannot recall an order this bad of Thai or western food. All I did, could do, was put it on the verboten list. Maybe a new cook, and they have decent baked goods, but never again. They lost more than one customer. A couple friends & I meet for coffee & breakfast at different places once a week. Used to have this place on the rotation; coffee & huevos rancheros. Which was good, BTW, but ... nevermore. Defamation laws prevent me from naming the restaurant. -

Sending food back to the kitchen?
Has anyone here ever heard about.....Loss of Face...in Asia? Sending food back to the chef....would....definitely be... Construed by all at the restaurant as Loss of Face for the chef. Why would you ever DO that???? Boggles the mind. Just feign an upset stomach, ...pay....., and then leave. No need for you to ever return to the same restaurant. ========= Or, what about eating at a noodle shop? And then.... You complain: My Noodle is too soft. Would you not then be the laughing stock of the entire noodle shop? Or... Dear Chef, My noodle is not LONG enough. Please take it back! Ridiculous, really. Never seen, in all my born days, anyone in Asia return food to the chef. Someday, maybe.... I will live to see the day.... -

What city in Thailand has the best weather?
Quite depressing to read you select your dream vacation spot based on HOSPITALS! Do you rate graveyards too? When I leave for 3rd world country I take risk and only buy one-way ticket. I'm not afraid to die, only to get so ill or insured I can't take care of myself. If/when I die I want my report read; "According to witness, a young lady, he left when he came" -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Remittances don't show up on their immediate radar either. The only time such things do come into play is when a return is queried or suspicions are raised. It's not as if TRD is sitting watching transactions flow back and forth, that's not what they do or how they operate, in the main. -

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
After speaking to a representative at my local TRD office on Friday, as a tax resident, we are expected to file a return whether we have assessable income or not -- whether we owe or not -- if we are here 180 days or more each year. -

Standard procedures in a lot of tax jurisdictions. If you do not provide evidence the IRS makes a guess of how much you earned and rest assured it is the worst case.
