Microsoft: Google Chrome kills battery life, use Edge instead

Featured Replies

Yeah I'm afraid it's no news, and it's the same on ios and android as well, but Chrome had a recent update which they claim lower the battery and memory usage. Edge is fast but lacks many features. A new browser called Vivaldi (made from one of the guys behind the Opera browser) is extreamly featureful, but since it's still in beta it is a bit slow and buggy. Not sure what to recommend, I guess it's up to what you prefer.

Firefox too. More mem, higher CPU. If you are watching any streaming video, Edge will gain you noticeably more time before laptop needs to be plugged back in.

Edge is full of flaws at the moment on my pc running Win 10 64 bit.

After coding for 15 years around the pain in the arse that IE was it will take a long time before I even contemplate using a windows microsoft developed browser again...

What did anyone expect Microsoft to say ?

These are the same guys that are in a pissing match with Google about putting official Google apps on windows phones,

Edge really should be classed as a beta product.
