mogandave
ever notice how the soothing aroma of cilantro (fresh coriander) lingers on yer hands after chopping?...they should bottle that aroma for afflicted persons to inhale when stressed and during times of emotional distress...but then some idiot would make it illegal... One of the reasons I love fishing...
tutsiwarrior
btw wanted to mention that I use the same ingredients, canned red kidneys, garbanzos and fresh long green beans (steamed) plus some artichoke hearts (makro) in a traditional bean salad with a dressing, keep in the fridge and snack on all day and ye don't need to eat anything else as the beans are filling...with the present ye just throw some curry spices into the mix and some water and toms to make a soup... for the bean salad just google, there must be a million recipes and dressings... and, the beans got a lot of fiber...good bowel movements guaranteed...made a ground pork and bok choy chow mein recently and although very tasty the meat made me constipated... mogandave
I could go for a pot of pintos and ham-hocks with fresh chopped onions, pepper & vinegar. Big slab of jalapeño cornbread on the side...

Interesting about cornmeal.... we have down here in SexCity. the Sexpat capital of Thailand with all the dregs that live here..... ad nauseum.... A Venezuelan place offering arepas. It will apparently open on the 10th of this month. They must be getting cornmeal from somewhere. I have only eaten arepas on Tenerife in the Canary Islands which have a number of people who went to Venezuela in the Franco days and retired there when oil went to crap. tutsiwarrior
just made this one again: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/12178-curried-cauliflower-soup?action=click&module=Collection Page Recipe Card®ion=21 of Our Most Popular Vegetarian Soups&pgType=collection&rank=10 I had posted this twice before but cannot emphasize enough how delish and easy to make it is...I was rummaging in the fridge and found a 2 week old cauli and some tatties, chopped 'em up and tossed them in the pot with garlic, ginger, onions and spices...I added some butter to the mixture in addition to the oil which is really nice...ready in about 30mins after a puree in the $10 blender...eat with any bread or crackers ye got...might make a homade loaf tmw fer dedicated dipping purposes... a good, filling meal, a bowl of this stuff with some bread is all ye need...not to mention the fiber and the associated splendid bowel movements the next morning... 'darling!' 'yes darling, takin' a dump over here darling...' 'yew been eatin' that curried cauli and tatties soup again?'

Try to avoid KFC now completely. I find KFC here horrible, especially the hotwings. Here they're dusted in some awful powder coating. Best junk food I had (bout 4 months ago) was the Burger King special, Aussie beef with fried onions. My missus does the best chicken I've ever had, KMFC (khun Malee Fried Chicken), with twice-fried chips, ketchup and mayo. If I'm really lucky I get onion rings as well. Next is to find or make a decent sesame seed bun and make the perfect chicken burger. Got to be plastic (American sliced) cheese with it.
