Ericsson expands AIS’ Bangkok network

BANGKOK: -- Swedish vendor Ericsson has been awarded a USD110 million contract by Thai mobile market leader Advanced Info Services (AIS) to expand the coverage and capacity of its GSM/GPRS/EDGE network in Bangkok.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will have turnkey responsibility for building the infrastructure, providing network design, deployment and integration services, including core and radio network. Ericsson will also provide its spare part management service, in order to lower AIS' operational costs.

The selection of Ericsson reinforces an existing close working partnership between the two companies.
