snoop1130
Pol Lt-Gen Sanit: Police have evidence to charge Ying Kai of human trafficking THAILAND:-- Police are confident they have enough evidence to seek courts arrest of Ying Kai on charge of human trafficking, said Pol Lt-Gen Sanit Mahathavorn, acting metropolitan police commissioner, on Tuesday. Police believe that there are more criminal cases in which Ying Kai or Mrs Monta Yokrattanakarn was allegedly involved but no complaints had been lodged against her yet, he said as he urged victims of Ying Kais alleged persecution to come forward to the police without any fear. Ying Kai, said Pol Lt-Gen Sanit, is just an ordinary woman who has no influence whatsoever and police will ensure justice to all. The acting commissioner said police would try to bring back from Laos three victims of Ying Kai who escaped to Laos for fear of their security. As for the nine theft cases raised by Ying Kai against her former employees, Pol Lt-Gen Sanit said he expected full reports about the cases within this week. Several senior Prachachuen police officers have been placed under investigation for their role in their handling of the theft charges against Ying Kais former employees. waldroj
Despite the renewed confidence exuding from the police, it will again be up to the courts to decide if the new evidence is any better than the last rejected effort (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?/topic/932558-Court-refuses-to-charge-Ying-Gai-with-human-trafficking). At least you have to give the RTP an A for Effort in their zeal to prosecute the old chook.
The stuttering parrot
No influence! Then how did her whole network get up and running and continue running year after year ? The only question is are you going to go all the way and get the ones in the most prominent positions that aided and abetted her or just the usual deflection away from them with a few minor level players? nev
Just a mere common chicken now, lost all her credibility and support from whoever has been supporting her. Hope she goes to jail for a long time and along the way bring down those involved in human trafficking above her.
shirtless
She is certainly not going anywhere for a while, Its a hard to lie to people who are objective.

ChrisY1
And of course, no mention any more of police, army and politicians involvement with her......the heats all on her now......her "accomplices", if of course they were actual, would be breathing a lot easier now
Srikcir
he urged victims of Ying Kais alleged persecution to come forward to the police without any fear. And get immediately sued for defamation.
ratcatcher
"Police are confident they have enough evidence to seek courts arrest of Ying Kai ..." I was under the impression the old girl was already being detained for her own safety. Perhaps detention and arrest have slightly different meanings? whatproblem
Makes no difference what evidence the police have if her friends in the prosecution department won't prosecute her
scorecard
Makes no difference what evidence the police have if her friends in the prosecution department won't prosecute her In a way it might be good if they failed to prosecute her. I guess General Sanit can't override the decision of prosecutors, but given the specific situation at hand it might well invoke General P to open up this case even more for further investigation, and perhaps even sideline the prosecutors. Surely this would be a severe and very embarrassing situation for the police prosecutors and ultimately a small step towards more police professionalism and honesty. klauskunkel
Ying Kai, said Pol Lt-Gen Sanit, is just an ordinary woman who has no influence whatsoever and police will ensure justice to all. That is nice, going on public record like this. Since it is established that RTP provided her with police escorts on various occasions to enhance her image, will every woman without influence receive the same VIP treatment as Kai, in order to ensure justice to all? Siameaze
What about the people in jail based on her allegations? Shouldn't they be allowed out pending the investigations?
IAMHERE
When Thailand is demoted to tier 3 there will be little doubt as to why, nobody is going to be able to say 'why?'.

ANY ONE CAN PAY FOR A POLICE ESCORT IN THAILAND. its like 5000 b or something. There is a company that caters to this service for business men. Its not strange. You can do it too. police love food, booze and women. they all require money.

arminbkk
"Ying Kai, said Pol Lt-Gen Sanit, is just an ordinary woman who has no influence whatsoever and police will ensure justice to all." Kind of like indirectly saying/admitting/acknowledging, that the measure of justice depends on the measure of influence one has.

sendintheclowns
The riddle is, whose passports were found at the new branch of TFC (Thai Fried Chicken)? no passport means these unfortunates are still in Thailand. or, they are at the other end of the chicken run (Singapore, HongKong, some Cambodian casino) without a passport. These poor souls are the ones I worry about.
