I feel this would be a handy forum to have and keep an eye on.

Helpful hint. A very common complaint is the stomach problems after eating 'questionable' cuisine. One remedy to always keep in mind and at hand:

Apple Cider Vinegar!

Most of the bacteria found in unclean food or the like cannot survive in an extreme acid environment. After eating, if you feel that oh oh coming on, grab the vinegar. A couple of teaspoons in a glass of water as soon as possible. Repeat if required, over the next few hours.

Wine and other types of vinegar are not as good. There are enzymes in apple cider vinegar which aid in digestion.

I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Oh Dear. Lets see. pH of vinegar, around about 4. pH of the stomach, betewwen 1 and 3. So the stomach is between 10 and 1,000 times more acidic than the vinegar. Hmmmmm.

In response to natee1's post, I live in Thailand, providing medical related assistance to outlying communities.

??Sounds like you are not allowed to call yourself 'doctor' ??

Are you a holistic/alternative practitioner? Maybe you know the answer to a question that's been on my mind a long time:

How 'healthy' are fruit and veg bought in Bangkok? Are the farmers as generous with spraying chemicals as the doctors are with antibiotics? I am quite suspicious of mushrooms that don't rot. The product in my gf's village appears O.K. , was told they cannot afford expensive chemicals (thank Buddha).
