Hi,

i am sorry if this has already been asked but couldn't seem to find the answer in the forum.

My husband is from the Philippines and we met while we were both teaching English in Thailand. His passport has numerous stamps of where he exited to Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia either to obtain a new visa for his job or to get another 15/30 days entry.

he is now a resident back in the Philippines and in the process of completing his application, my question is does he need to list every single entry stamp to the above countries over the last ten years. I think there are 16 entries in total,. Really the only reason he went to these countries were to obtain visas or entry stamps.

if he has to list every single country is it best to put the reason as to obtain a Thai visa for each exit.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:  just list them all and leave no room for ambiguity.  Sixteen trips isn't a great deal to evidence.

Yeah. I didn't think it was too bad really . What I was stuck on was the reason for the trips, some were for visas and some he just had to get an extra 15 or 30 days to extend his stay. So wasn't really sure what to put. Is it best to put travel or visit Thai embassy?

To be honest the fact that your husband has made numerous trips overseas, many of them border runs, will be of little interest to the ECO when considering his application for settlement, which requires a different burden of proof.

Evidence of overseas travel is important when the applicant is applying for a visit visa and is trying to satisfy the ECO that they have abided by the visa regulations of various countries visited, and returned home, or at least left the country they were visiting.

The application defaults to a lower number as only the real overseas trips have any bearing when convincing the decision maker that the decision maker that the applicant is likely to return.

My partner has made numerous trips overseas, the UK, Schengen, Japan the UAE and the like, and when she applies for a tourist visa she only lists these and then only the most recent, she leaves out short trips to KL, Singapore, Laos and the like, though mentions them in one short sentence in her covering letter.

When applying for a Settlement Visa the ECO will want evidence that the requirements for Settlement are met, not that the applicant has made numerous border runs.

That's a very interesting post to me. I was going to ask a similar question.

My wife is going to apply for a UK settlement visa and has multiple entry/exit stamps in her passport, 1 each from Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong from trips with me, and then around 30 entries and exits to Cambodia which are all same day returns (single day trips) from buying stock at the market on the Cambodian side of which her mother sells on the Thai side at a market. Should all these trips be broken down in to singular dated travel and included in the application. It does state in the application to list all travel outside of Thailand, and a copy of all pages of passport will be provided with supporting documents.

Listing them all individually seems rather excessive but probably the safest option even though these trips seem rather irrelevant to a settlement via application.
