Free testosterone is that whivh is not bound to SHBG and I think albumin.

In Thailand it's pretty well impossible to get it measured directly.

It can be calculated ...look up issen or issan chemists ...they have a calculation .

I have some testosterone cream given to me for tiredness ... it just gave me  extra erections!! Made me even more 'kin tired ...I don't want it anymore...

Thanks.

Still at the fact-findingstage and not committed its what I need.

Currently I am on zero meds and not sure I want to start...but if it would help return some of my energy then I am up for it.

I have been doing hormone therapy for years with no problem. You need to know your total testosterone and free also estrogen, and dht. As we age our testosterone is converted to estrogen as well as the shbg mentionedearlier. Testosterone can also be converted to dht, dht causes baldness as well as swollen prostrate. Life extension foundation has a great article on MHRT that can give you all of the ins and outs. I use a cream with 10 percent testosterone the body will not absorb more than this. It is advisable to have blood test every 6 months when you first start on HPT after you get balanced out every year should be enough.

Thanks very much amigo.

Tests show my levels are at the low end for my age and Doc says I would be candidate for it.

Well that was 18 months ago. But I am not getting any younger.

The main risk of T replacement is that it can accelerate the growth of some prostate cancers - if they are there to begin with (will not cause cancer per se). So important to have a digital prostate exam and best also to check PSA before starting in it.

As the pharmacy guy toldme when I first started you will not be jumping tall buildings but it can lead toa sense ofwell being not present before. I am 70 hit the gym 3 times a week ithelps keep the muscle mass up. I maintain my levels at the age of a 30 year old around 600 also take zinc to discourage estrogen conversion, 1mg of finisteride for dht conversion. find and read the Life Extension article on HRT

OK I'll go away now... In the study, researchers found that, as a group, men prescribed testosterone for longer than a year had no overall increase in risk of prostate cancer and, in fact, had their risk of aggressive disease reduced by 50 percent.

I was 9.4 on my PSA levels and I'm under 60 so that's high. After using the Progesterone cream PSA levels dropped dramatically to 6.1 - I'm continuing applying the cream until I'm happier with the readings !!

It's a scary subject for most. Hence, I'm by far no expert not wanting to give anyone medical advice and need stipulate I tested this theory given that I was really worried about the outcome if I didn't heed my PSA readings.
