AIS Fibre Lead Time

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the rough lead time to install AIS Fibre in a Condo in Bangkok, I can't seem to find a rough timeline anywhere!

Thanks in advance :)

IME, on multiple installs, there can be some variation, once the site survey is completed, but typically 2 - 5 days.

Often their crews (six people) arrive for an install and find no one home, so they call the next work order to see if they can come earlier.

Is that what you're asking? Or are you asking about how long a typical install takes?

Thanks that's what I'm after, I just want to know how long after I move in somewhere can i get internet up and running :)  Do you find they speak good english?

Have you determined if AIS fiber is available in the building? Does the building allow AIS to pull fiber in, and interface with whatever riser media is in place? Does anyone else in the building have AIS fiber.

I think you'll find there may be a limit on ISPs in any particular property, although this becoming less of an issue these days.

You'll have to contact AIS for a site survey, and if they can do the install then they will give you a date. I'd be surprised if it was more than 10 days out (they install on Saturdays, not sure about Sundays).

Of the twelve or so folks I dealt with across two installs none spoke a lick of English. We muddled through together, and all were very nice, professional, thorough.

The first install took nearly six hours, the second one less than 90 minutes as I was more prepared the second time.

The AIS salespeople were at my condo on Sunday. On Monday I requested their fibre package. On Wednesday (today) I got a fibre router that is a VDSL router. The fibre is to the building in the condo in my case.

Yes, we also had a Monday request, followed by a Wednesday install, but another install took longer, ~ 8 calendar days.
