PHUKET: -- Two night venue managers and two staff were arrested in Phuket Town early this morning (Aug 18) after police raided two nightclubs and caught them selling alcohol after hours, with one venue manager charged with providing lurid entertainment.

Maj Purimphat Thanaphansiri and Lt Preechaphat Sangnoi of the Phuket City Police led more than 20 officers to raid the Harem night venue on Phang Nga Rd at 1am.

Present for the raid was Dr Prapa Nakara from the Provincial Public Health Office, which is responsible for enforcing alcohol control laws, and Panom Kraiserm from the Excise Department Phuket office, which issues alcohol and entertainment licenses.

providing lurid entertainment

What could this be ??

"Lurid entertainment" is what keeps millions flocking to Thailand.

Do they pretend they don't know ?

Ahh yes. This will replaced, according to the Tourism Minister, with Pokemon GO. :cheesy:

With the name Harem Bar, I thought it was a religious school! :w00t:

Well they may have been on their knees but I doubt they were praying.

Have to say those 2 in the photo look very decent to me

Yes, unfortunately the Farang bars only get what's left after they have been given a couple of kids.

They don't know what's going on at Soi Cowboy, Nana, Patpong in BKK nor what's bar life in Pattaya ???

Hypocrites.

Pokemon HO.

And on the left of the picture we somebodies private cell phone (with pink mouse ears) being used to record the event. I hope the holder is not one of the BiB. The idea of a gun toting Thai copy having a phone with pink mouse ears disturbs me...

Why should they - this is about Phuket and its completely irrelevant, especially considering this is a Thai orientated bar. Its about time some people changed their record. Same old blah, blah all the time.

Police do nothing- bad. Police do something- bad. Just no pleasing some people..

"Police do nothing" - selective enforcement.

"Police do something" - selective enforcement.

All the time, collecting, and increasing, their "tea money."

Little wonder no one has respect for them.

3rd World law enforcement, for a 3rd World country.  Simple as that.

Precisely.  Amazing how hard this seems to be to grasp by some people.   But, if you're a die-hard apologist (is there any other kind?), you're adept at painting a happy face on almost anything.

shocking shocking  dang..

Lurid shows in Phuket Town...disgusting. But hey, why pick on Phuket Town shows, walk down Bangla any day of the week and you see touts pushing these 'lurid shows'. Then of course theres the big place in ChinaTown Plaza. This one doesn't count though as its only catering for the quality tourists from the East. No chance of this place being raided as its difficult to find (across the street from Patong Police Station & within walking distance). Not only that, its run by the same people who control Paradise Beach Club; you know, the one that was supposed to be removing it's structures because they are illegal.

Some things never change.

Thais are Hypocrites

Patpong is OK but a bar with girls in underwear is not Ummm I don't get it
