HUA HIN:-- Thais and foreigners have joined hands to promote Hua Hin in the wake of last week's bombs.

People from all sections of the community gathered at the downtown clock tower near where two of the bombs exploded last Friday morning.

They were joined by Prajuab governor Thawee and municipal Hua Hin chief Noppaporn.

And it was the placards in Thai and English that told the story that Hua Hin people are strong in the face of adversity - Keep Calm and Carry On and Hug Hua Hin were held up in English while "We are strong", "Welcome to Hua Hin" and "Hua Hin people united together" were
translations of the Thai messages.

Students, teachers, and representatives of businesses - including the beer bar operators - all joined hands.

But Mr Peter from Denmark perhaps summed it up best: "I don't care about the bombs", he said defiantly. "I love Hua Hin and I will stay living here indefinitely".

Businesses and tourism has been hit after a series of explosions rocked the seaside town on Thursday and Friday killing one and injuring many locals and foreign tourists.

I live in Hua Hin and never heard anything about this. Would have been nice to go.

I would have put on my blue shirt and wore my amulets. It's a grand ol' flag, it's a high flyin' flag...

sure life must go on. these incidences do shake out confidence for a while but then we realise that we cannot hide in the house whole day. we have to go work and the whole chain reaction of restaurants and shops opening has to go on. gradually life returns to normal.

Would have been nice if they promoted it in a way, that most residents of Hua Hin, and the entire province heard something about it. Prachuap Khiri Khan governor Thawee Narissirikulis is a rare, talented, good politician. Thailand needs more like him. Much good has been done for the region.

Rejoicing

Not being a party pooper. However, it seems to me there's only one Farang supporting the entire Hua Hin foreign residents or do I need stronger Glasses?

Just saying :coffee1:

maybe their plan was to not advertise it too much to avoid a repeat experience. looks more like a photo op with more photographers than punters. good luck to hua hin, great little town. i may look to retire there when i am pattayed out if it still nice and quiet.

Before I even read the article I just knew it would be a Nord involved. They seem to be the most gullible farangs.

We all love Hua Hin but like these idiots cannot guarantee anyone's safety.

Hollow nonsense . . . .
