Ratchaburi makes more effort to fight domestic violence

RATCHABURI, 22 August 2016 (NNT) - Permanent Secretary for Social Development and Human Security Maitri Inthusut has led a group of press members to Ratchaburi province to promote the achievements of the province in preventing and tackling domestic violence.

The permanent secretary on Sunday presided over the opening ceremony of an academic seminar on domestic violence in Ratchaburi. Mr. Maitri said domestic violence was the problem all countries were eager to prevent and solve. The ministry assigned high priority to domestic violence as well as violence against children and women by identifying it as urgent policy issue, said the permanent secretary. He added that domestic violence would lead to other forms of violence in the society.

Around 600 people from provincial government units and press members participated in the seminar.

Mr. Maitri stressed that successful solutions to domestic violence needed cooperation from all sectors in the society, especially the government, the media and the civil society.

Didn't visit my village in Ratchaburi, then.

An outstanding example of  "achievements of the province in preventing and tackling domestic violence". :whistling:

Beatings of kids with the nearest implement to hand, night-time screams as a drunken husband returns to the marital home, clumps of hair parting from scalp as mother and daughter-in-law slug it out, or most recently, wife clawing shreds off hubby's face.
