Buying a phone on the internet?

Featured Replies

Currently in Koh Phangan and the phone choice here is v limited. I would like a Sony Xperia X3 Compact or similar, so will have to order from the mainland.

Does anybody know of a reliable source for purchasing phones over the net, preferably offering a product guarantee etc?

Do you mean mainland as in Thailand? Or some other country?

I think a lot will depend on the exact make/model. Lazada, Shopat7, WeMall etc., won't have every model.

Maybe first identify the exact make/model/version, then look to see where it can be sourced?

Then maybe look at the manufacturer's Thai website and Facebook page. Also check AIS, DTAC and TrueMove H. And thaimobilecenter And Jaymart, TGfone, etc.

I've used Lazada for at least 2 phone purchases. Worked perfectly.

Cool.. how long was the delivery time, and do they send by courier?

Each item in the Lazada catalogue shows how long it takes to deliver. Think it was DHL. The phones arrived in 2-3 days and you can follow the order route in your account.

Lazada also uses Kerry Logistics for many of it's local deliveries. I've never had a problem with them.

Pay close attention to the warranty information on the webpage of any phone you are buying from Lazada.  Many are "Grey Market" and have no manufacturers warranty, only Lazada's 14 day return policy.

Have had no problems with Lazada.

Deliveries within a week if shipped from Thailnd
