I have a couple of goldfish but they're not good at ironing. Perhaps I should get a bird to take care of me. Would you recommend any particular species? Perhaps a budgie?

Don't forget the candle to heat the spoon to get the little bumps out of the toes and heels of new drill boots.

Used to do it all myself about 20 years ago in Uni, then in my first job.. Now I have a Wife, Nanny/Maid.. I don't lift a finger.. Sounds bad.. but I work hard and could not be assed doing it. Like that hotel feeling.

I find myself quite capable of performing all household chores, including ironing, but choose not to do them all myself.

My only dilemma is I can neither scratch my back without assistance nor apply sunscreen lotion evenly.

So far, I have not decided to commit suicide over my inabilities.

Been doing it most of my life. I don't enjoy ironing but I do a much better job of it than any of my local laundries so it's easier just to do it myself.

I love my own cooking because I love how it tastes and I know what's in it (more importantly, I also know what's NOT in it) and I haven't found any restaurant that can do good mince and tatties :-)

Do you make the mince yourself? If not, IMHO you don't know what's in it.

I like you I suppose, learnt to do this at a young age. Both of my parents worked, so when I was about 14 years old, and if I wanted to eat, I had to cook it myself. Also do my own dishes afterwards, and keep my room clean. I started washing my own clothes when I got a bit older, but didn't really do much house cleaning until I moved into my own place at 18 years old, or helped my mother with spring cleaning.

I don't cook and clean now, but it is not because I don't know how to. I have been married 3 times and each of my wives would tell you I am a far better cook than they are. I will still cook up some Turkey Dinner, if I can find one, or a Steak on the BBQ, if I am in the mood. So I don't cook much or clean now mostly because my Thai Wife doesn't like when I do this. To be honest I am not sure why.

I didn't know that in the West this had become a lost art, and as you say. I do agree a Man should know how to do this on his own. But I think when it comes to this Thai Men are far worst. I think my Wife's Father would starve to death if he didn't have a wife or daughter to cook for him. The son is a bit better as he will use the microwave to warm something up, but not much more than that.

Of course and I can understand the topic but he is gettng paid for it, and that irritates me just a bit. He is no just an ordinary member here, he is getting hired to create activity. Will he still be around after 6 months or 1 year ? Nope. I expect my post to get deleted again anyway.

billd766.

Our rifle was the Lee Enfield 303.I remember it carried 8 in the mag and 1 up the spout ,making 9.The Bren carried 28 in the mag and 29 with 1 in.The Bren came apart in 5 groups, and it jumped forward when firing it laying down.I could strip and put back in less than 2 minutes. And the fastest firing order that an officer or N.C.O could deliver was "follow my tracer" and the sight on the rifle was called a bed block and blade. On the Bren the sight was lost because there was a flash regulator.

I Shot at Vange in the Queens Surrey cup and was awarded my snipers badge. It was a white rifle with a crown on top, worn on the lower left sleeve.

The FN SLR replaced the Enfeild soon after.
And i do remember heating the spoon and running the bowl of it over the toecaps of my boots.

Once, we were warriors.
