BANGKOK, 16 September 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will exercise his power under Section 44 of the interim charter to appoint a coordinator whose task is to ensure that organizations responsible for restoring peace in the Deep South are working more effectively.

In his capacity as chief of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), Gen Prayut is set to appoint a qualified and experienced individual to serve as a special representative in handling matters related to the Deep South.

The special representative will coordinate the work between the Internal Security Operations Command, the Southern Border Provinces Development Strategy Committee and the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre.

General Prayut also came up with an idea to set up the Cabinet’s front line to speed up the peace restoration process. The so called ‘front line’ will consist of representatives from every ministry who are able to take orders directly from the government and implement them in southernmost provinces.

Appointing "someone" is the old reliable fallback option for a PM who doesn't know what to do but wants people to believe he is doing something. After appointing "someone" he himself disappears in a puff of smoke and the whole thing gets forgotten. PM's and leaders from all over the world use this technique and it always reliable. James Hacker actually made this political ploy famous.

The Boss is learning.

An expert?! An expert?! My dear tukky you've lost your mind!

Dr Tamthai has been involved before, if you can access the page with your current setup, search his name on Google and look for "Cable: 09CHIANGMAI89_a" - it's very interesting reading for a number of reasons.
