Lampang health chief backs off plan to close hospitals during weekends

 

 

LAMPANG: -- The Lampang provincial health chief made an about-face three days after he ordered all health promotion tambon hospitals in the province closed during weekends starting October 1 in order to cut costs.

 

An urgent order was issued by Dr Sirichai Pattharanuthaporn, chief of Lampang provincial health office, on Monday and distributed to all tambon hospitals in the province, rescinding a previous order he used on September 23 for all the hospitals to close down during weekends.

 

The closure order has sparked off criticism from many people in the province who have to rely on services from the tambon hospitals. Many of them reportedly said that they did not want to travel to Koh Ka district hospital because the hospital is crowded and that they live far away from the hospital.

how do these people get their jobs. he must have discussed the before announcing it, did not some of his colleagues say it was a bad idea?
