PHUKET: -- Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident in Srisoonthorn early this morning (Sept 27) which involved two vehicles and left one man dead and a second injured.

Thalang Police Capt Chatree Choowichien received a call from a local resident at 1:15am today where it was stated that there has been a hit-and-run accident on Thepkrassattri Rd southbound in Srisoonthorn which had left two people injured.

Police arrived at the scene with Kusoldharm rescue workers to find a wrecked Honda motorbike and its rider and passenger lying on the road.

The rider, Mr Sirichai Witsuma, 20, had suffered scrapes all over his body, while his passenger, Mr Noppadon Yaprachan, 19, was lying unconscious on the road. No helmets were said to have been found at the scene.

Just another day in the traffic in the Land of Smile. Sad but true:sad:

>> Mr Sirichai said and he did not remember the colour or make of either vehicle because it was dark and everything happened so fast.

I wonder if this motorbike had his lights on when it got hit from behind?  Unless you're an alert and observant driver at 1:15 am, a motorbike with no lights in a dark area could be missed.
