dblaisde Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Sad but true. I'm 70 and still seem to need sex and Viagra no longer can reanimate my little Frankenstein. I haven't tried Cialis but gather it's just a longer acting version of Viagra (besides being very expensive). I read somewhere that some of the creams below, applied directly to the skin of the penis are more effective. Are any available in BKK? PGE1 Alprostadil Trimix Prostaglandin E1 (Alprostadil) Papaverine Phentolamine Thanks in advance
Fithman Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Those are injections not 'creams' If you should consult a specialist doctor about the ED.
Sheryl Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 And not available here, unless the hospitals have them.

geriatrickid Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 If you are unable to obtain or maintain an erection, even after the use of viagra or cialis, then there are more important issues at work and should be addressed first. You most likely already have been told by your physician, but here goes; 1. Smoking: One of the major causes of erectile dysfunction in males age 40+. 2. Obesity: Major negative impact. 3. Physical activity: yes, it's true, the more active one is, the more resilient peter pecker is. 4. Alcohol consumption: Too much and you won't be able to manage. 5. Circulatory disease, particularly CAD. Sorry to say, but ED is directly linked to CAD. If you have elevated triglycerides, calcium scaling and plaque growth no cremes, pills or potions will help you for very long. 6. Other medications: Some medications such as a beta blocker in high dose are an erection blocker. Review your medications with your physician. It isn't much solace, but you are not alone. ED is under reported, but the fact of the matter is that most males start to have issues after age 50. Now you can say, you are in perfect health or that you are a non smoker or don't have any of the above, but the reality is that, if you do not have a psychological problem, then there is an underlying physical, organic issue that needs to be visited. Suggestining pills, potions or cremes is not helping you, but instead potentially harming you. It is recommended that you visit with your physician and have a heart to heart with him or her. ED is a common problem and if the doctor is embarrassed or doesn't know what to do, change doctors. The heart attack or stroke you may prevent by having the talk is worth it.
dblaisde Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 >>these aren't creams. Sheryl, A different story here. At least *some* are.... For the last decade, pharmaceutical companies have been testing and developing topical creams that contain alprostadil. Alprostadil is currently prescribed in the U.S. as an injection or as a penile suppository to treat ED. Vitaros, a cream formulation of alprostadil, is approved in Canada and Europe.Feb 7, 2015 and here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erectile_dysfunction#Topical_medication
Sheryl Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 ALprostadil cream has not been approved for use in Thailand. There is an oral form of the drug for cardiac use. Injectable brand (Caverject) recently went off market here. When drugs do, very often the hospitals stockpile them first.

Because there are too many falsely judgmental posts on here. People posting medical advice about everything without knowing a persons medical history or more importantly, actually conducting a face to face examination. That's why most Doctor's are "specialists". Beware of someone who gives medical advice or claims to know everything about every medical condition. Sadly, Some very irresponsible posts in this forum.
Blue bruce Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Two years ago I underwent radiation therapy for prostate cancer. My doctor prescribed a penile injection of a papaverine mixture until my prostate healed and was able to perform naturally. The injections worked fine. No side effects.

I'm on an SSRI, essential to prevent a crippling depression. I've been on it for 20 years and it's made life not only worth living, but worth celebrating. ....except for sexual side effects, for which the SSRIs are famous. Good news though. The flag was flying at full staff a few nights ago. It doesn't fly for *too* long but long enough. (PS: I realize how inane these male conversations must appear to many. My response: if you haven't been there, don't ridicule.)
LongTimeLurker Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 A mate swears by testosterone injections as a way to increase 'activity' but of course you would have to get proper advice on how it may interact with your current medications.

IMA_FARANG Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 For over a year now, since i signed up for a Gaurdian newspaper free email subscription to keep in touch with the news about BREXIT, I have been receaving daily spam from the U.K. tring to sell or give me soething. Erectile creams of many different names seem to be high of the list on those scam letters from the U.K. I wonder why?

After I visited a site about cycling, I was inundated with ads about bicycles. What's in your web history? To the OP, as I recall, my problems with SSRI's were different. Plenty of lead in the pencil, but no powder in the breach. I had no trouble getting or maintaining the erection, but nothing else was going to happen. On the plus side, my GF thought i finally outgrew my minuteman syndrome. On the minus side...
