Water to be shut-off in Phuket tourist towns tomorrow

PHUKET: -- The Phuket Waterworks Authority (PWA) has announced that the water supply will be shut-off in some parts of Karon, Kata and Patong tomorrow (Oct 21) as works are carried out on high-voltage power lines.

 

The PWA announced in a press release issued today (Oct 20) that the water supply in Karon, Kata and Patong will be shut-off from 9am-5pm as works are carried out on high voltage power lines in the area.

you mean there is a system ?? 

I thought water and electricity got on well with each other - after all, that's why we have words like "hydroelectric" - so what is the need to shut off the water?

I know electricity flows...but turning off the water to work on the power lines???  Really???
