PHUKET: -- A group of 63 employees of the Aspasia Phuket resort in Karon registered a complaint with the Dhamrongdhama Center at Phuket Provincial Hall on Wednesday, after the hotel’s management company ‘The Breakers Resort & Development Co Ltd’ issued a verbal notice to them to stop working on Tuesday.

Representatives of the management company said that the resort was unable to pay outstanding fees to them, which is why all operations must cease until a new management company is appointed.

“This seems to be an internal issue between the hotel and the management company. We have suggested that employees return to work as usual,” said Tanapong Orachon of the Phuket Provincial Office of Labor Protection and Welfare.

Existing guests were told to move hotel, some time ago already, and new bookings have been cancelled without refund.

The law in Thailand for redundancy is very good & enforced pretty well.

The squabble between the two Management Companies as to who pays will be sorted out in 10 minutes as

soon as go to arbitration.. The labour department judicates very quickly if they get that far

obviously you would

There's a big back story to this that has been covered here on Thaivisa. I'm not quite sure who are the good guys and bad guys as uniformed people have been brought in and were quite thug like.

What I was told is that the original owner died, and his daughter now wants her hands free to sell the place.

I think the employees are damn right to try and 'hama' it out the Dhamronghama Center.

She sounds like a nice lady.

I thought it was collectively owned by those who bought apartments there & as a group they should control who manages it.
