Pin to make grounded plug

The reason why not all my sockets are not earthed is that you can't fit 4 into a standard box. Otherwise they are all like thisIMG_9397.JPG

  • Many Thai can not figure out which way to plug them in - have to admit I have had to look closely at times.  But they are still rare here.  Much prefer the simple shape of molded US type plug as you k

  • They do, they're made by WonPro and look like this:-

  • The problem with those adapters is they take up too much room so only one outlet of a normal duplex outlet is usable for a grounded plug if used.

Yup ^^^. Those Haco plugs are very nice and they let the cord fall parallel to the wall (you do need to have the outlet the right way up mind).

BUT chopping off the plug may well invalidate your warranty :(

I like to keep appliances in original condition at least until the warranty is up. I have a few of the adaptors which move around as new appliances need them, older appliances get Haco plugs.

Also be careful of manually wiring plugs, I have seen many, including Dohome Udon Thani that are rated at 115 volts.

Maybe it will work ok but insurance will likely be cancelled if they cause a fire.

I told staff at Homepro they are dangerous and should be removed.

Yeah, I've seen plugs marked "115V" too.

In reality the amount of insulation required to provide mechanical strength is far more than that required to actually provide insulation. Provided you stay within the current rating marked you should be just fine.
