BANGKOK:-- A 68 year old taxi driver on his way home wondered what the bump was.

So he got out of his cab thinking he must have gone over an animal.

When he looked under the car he saw to his horror that it was a man, and he was now dead.

Chawin, 68, called the Pak Kret cops straight away. They found no signs of collision on the taxi. Under the car they found Buddee, 38, dead from head trauma and other injuries.

Friends of Buddee still in the Chang Wattana - Pak Kret Soi 36 area said they had been drinking alcohol with the victim. He was very drunk, they said, thinking that he must have passed out in the middle of the soi.

Police are interviewing the driver again and the body has been sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death.

Police are interviewing the driver again and the body has been sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death.

Ran over by a cab.

When he looked under the car he saw to his horror that it was a man, and he was now dead.

But he was alive before.   1 + 1= 3, case solved.

RIP, you won't make the same mistake again in this life.

Isn't the age of 68 a bit too old to drive a taxi in busy BKK???

I was in a taxi a couple of years ago and the driver was 74. When we reached my destination I questioned him why the fare was very low and he admitted he'd forgotten to switch the meter on until we were over halfway there. I ended up leaving double the fare as a tip (he only wanted the amount as shown on the meter)

So he drove over a human-sized object in the road but didn't notice until he felt a bump? Is he blind?

No but he probably expected the soi dog to move when he beeped his horn.

Some people have no choice but to keep working..

Come on folks. Single lane unlighted local street with a person laying about in center road. Headlight distance 150 feet, no much room for braking even after feeling the 'bump'. If the 'victim' was that intoxicated, his friends should have walked him home. Maybe the driver could have seen the 'gang'.

Maybe the autopsy will reveal that the "corpse" was dead hours before it was flattened?

Tragic.... but.... we are starting to see more articles including comments that autopsies are to be performed, vs irrevocable on site dubious conclusions

as bad as this is.... this is an upside

still waiting for feedback about the man who committed suicide by sticking his head in a bucket, whilst balancing a bag of golf clubs on his shoulders ( speaking of onsite dubious conclusions)

No, it's not too old anywhere.

Apparently not, if you bother to read the report.

"...so pathetically typical....".   Yes, some posters never change.

Too old at 68, if his reactions and eyesight are okay why shouldn't he?

There are plenty of young drivers here that shouldn't be on the road for lack of skill, not because they are too young to drive.

Or are you suggesting he didn't see what was in the road just because he is 68?
