rooster59 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Taxi driver thought he had gone over an animal - took a look underneath the car; it's a human corpse Image: Sanook BANGKOK:-- A 68 year old taxi driver on his way home wondered what the bump was. So he got out of his cab thinking he must have gone over an animal. When he looked under the car he saw to his horror that it was a man, and he was now dead. Chawin, 68, called the Pak Kret cops straight away. They found no signs of collision on the taxi. Under the car they found Buddee, 38, dead from head trauma and other injuries. Friends of Buddee still in the Chang Wattana - Pak Kret Soi 36 area said they had been drinking alcohol with the victim. He was very drunk, they said, thinking that he must have passed out in the middle of the soi. Police are interviewing the driver again and the body has been sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death. Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2016-10-30
fruitman Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Isn't the age of 68 a bit too old to drive a taxi in busy BKK???
lostinisaan Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Police are interviewing the driver again and the body has been sent for autopsy to find out the exact cause of death. Ran over by a cab. When he looked under the car he saw to his horror that it was a man, and he was now dead. But he was alive before. 1 + 1= 3, case solved. RIP, you won't make the same mistake again in this life.
eeyang wah Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 So he drove over a human-sized object in the road but didn't notice until he felt a bump? Is he blind?

I was in a taxi a couple of years ago and the driver was 74. When we reached my destination I questioned him why the fare was very low and he admitted he'd forgotten to switch the meter on until we were over halfway there. I ended up leaving double the fare as a tip (he only wanted the amount as shown on the meter)
Bantex Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 How did he read the taxi meter if he couldn't see an adult body on the road?

oldrunner Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Come on folks. Single lane unlighted local street with a person laying about in center road. Headlight distance 150 feet, no much room for braking even after feeling the 'bump'. If the 'victim' was that intoxicated, his friends should have walked him home. Maybe the driver could have seen the 'gang'.
SOTIRIOS Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 ...just another cockamamie story to deflect any guilt.... ...so pathetically typical....

farcanell Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Tragic.... but.... we are starting to see more articles including comments that autopsies are to be performed, vs irrevocable on site dubious conclusions as bad as this is.... this is an upside still waiting for feedback about the man who committed suicide by sticking his head in a bucket, whilst balancing a bag of golf clubs on his shoulders ( speaking of onsite dubious conclusions)

Sphere Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 The sudden jolt caused 346798 Euros to fall out of the back seat, which were promptly returned to a Spanish backpacker couple.
Khon Kaen Dave Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Of course, this is deffo a case of premeditated suicide. What else?

Too old at 68, if his reactions and eyesight are okay why shouldn't he? There are plenty of young drivers here that shouldn't be on the road for lack of skill, not because they are too young to drive. Or are you suggesting he didn't see what was in the road just because he is 68?
